Product Information

Ultra-Supportive Distal Shaft Construction
The Excelsior 1018 Microcatheter employs advanced composite distal shaft construction for enhanced stability, pushability, and lumen integrity.

Low-Profile 2.0F Distal Shaft
The Excelsior 1018 Microcatheter features a low-profile distal shaft designed to facilitate access through tortuous neurovasculature.

Extra-Large 0.019" Inner Lumen
An extra-large lumen provides broad device compatibility. The Excelsior 1018 Microcatheter can deploy all Matrix2® and GDC® Coils, sizes 10 to 18, and can accommodate up to 0.16" guidewires.

Excellent Tip-Shape Retention
A highlight steam-shapeable tip offer unmatched shape retention to accommodate anatomical variation, enhance vessel selectivity, and help maintain catheter tip position within the aneurysm.

Additional Information

Steam Shaping Choices
Steam shaping allows the physician to create unique tip designs to address variation in vessel morphology. Tip shape retention enhances vessel selectivity and helps to maintain position during coil delivery. The Excelsior 1018 Microcatheter features a highly steam-shapeable tip with exceptional shape retention characteristics.

Straight Tips
For greater versatility, apply a custom shape to straight-tip microcatheters.

Pre-Shaped Tips
For greater convenience, select the desired pre-shaped microcatheter and apply secondary shapes proximal to the pre-shaped tip.

Radiopaque Marker Bands
Highly radiopaque platinum marker bands, distally and proximally, provide superb fluoroscopic visualization.

Precisely Located Proximal Marker
Used to align the coil delivery wire within the microcatheter prior to coil detachment, the proximal marker band is precisely located on the shaft body.

Thin-Wall™ Technology
Proprietary, composite-shaft technology maximizes the ID/OD ratio of the catheter to provide an extra-large 0.019" inner lumen within a low-profile 2.0F OD distal shaft.

PTFE Inner Lumen
Ultra-smooth inner lumen surface facilitates manipulation of guidewires and detachable coils within the microcatheter.

Hydrolene® Hydrophilic Polymer Coating
An ultra-lubricious outer surface facilitates advancement and negotiation of the microcatheter within the guide catheter as well as through challenging anatomy.

Transparent Hub
A transparent polymer hub allows guidewires, coils, and embolic agents to be introduced under direct visualization.
